Goal of the Course

To get familiar with computers in general and in particular with the three main components of the Microsoft Office 2007 Suite: We will be going through the Chapters on Word, Excel, and Access of the text that belongs to this course (see above).

Word

By the end of the Word section you will be able to do simple formatting tasks such as change the font face, font size, and set the line spacing in a document. But also more elaborate tasks such as setting tabs stops, adding headers and footers with possibly page numbering to a document, inserting images, and applying styles.

Excel

By the end of the Excel section you will be able to format an excel worksheet such that it looks professionally, do simple calculations on data and more elaborate calculations involving absolute and relative cell references.

Access

By the end of the Access section you will be able to distinguish the different elements a data base is made out of (tables, queries, forms and reports) and will have a good idea of what a relational database is. You will create and modify tables, create forms and reports and design queries.
